Creating an interactive experience for all abled people to enjoy immediate and future events in their area
In this culmination project I wanted to focus on a matter that is pressing not only how we view technology, but our interaction with it. We are advancing faster into the age of AI and there are a lot of phobias around the aspect or even the word AI. I wanted to connect people more with this technology and dispel their fears about it. In this project, I emulated the processing speed of an AI. Using lines of code and shapes to have it look like an information process, then have a final piece of it initializing a sequence of events.
AI is a growing technology becoming more robust in all our technologies.
A lot of users have a stereotypical view on the word AI thinking things like terminator, machines taking over, technology becoming conscious.
Help users understand that AI is going to allow people to prosper rather than hinder them.
This went through a few iterations and also used multiple pieces of software to complete. Careful consideration went into each model and how they were constructed or deconstructed from other models. Then to polish and refine everything together I brought all my 3D assets into after effects and rendered them with redshift.

To make sure the animation flowed well. I went through a storyboarding phase, and then interviewing process to make sure the story flowed well. This was also a good phase of wireframing to make sure the animation process worked.
Careful consideration went into each model, from the design of each piece to its complete layout. Large parts of the models were created by hand to give a more authentic feel, with accent pieces dissected from other models. The entire model came from the idea of looking into the mind of technology and what it entails. This theme for the models leads to floating parts that could be easily broken away or transformed. The accent pieces elevated the large pieces giving more details and areas to focus on when watching the piece.
The animation portion went through quite a few phases. I was never satisfied with how it first looked and kept iterating on it till it hit its final look. When I was first adding materials and lights to the scene, it felt out of place. That’s when I decided to change all the materials and overall look to the animation. Making objects into wireframes, adding more cuts and more sequences gave the animation more life. I even went through and made it more simple by changing the materials to one color. This way, it looked more like a computer simulation than this un-unified look of realistic and simulation. The wireframe technique also incorporates other animation styles, grid animation techniques, and the blend of computer and motion pieces. I composited the animation allowing things to show in the background of the animation pieces. This gave the 3d elements and 2d elements to resemble each other more. The final piece was an overlay on everything creating a matrix screen that made the piece more computeristic and experimental.
