New App that encompasses all of TEGNA's local news.
Chris and I were tasked with recreating the TEGNA app so that it is more efficient for people to use. Currently, we have 60+ apps that are similar but utilized for each market. To decrease this waste of space we have now created one app that combines all our stations apps to one. This allows users to find local news for any area they want that is supported by TEGNA. We went through and created a more contemporary look and increased usability for the app to help users get what they like to see first.
Increase the process and decrease duration and work that people spend applying to a company.
TEGNA had an outdated way of going about apps. Through a new transition of managers and leadership they finally wanted to update the way the app was shipped and put out to users. As of right now the app is still in progress and in the Dev phase. Although, to showcase to stakeholders, we created a decent amount of it through protopie which allowed us to get the most fuctional prototyping compared to other programs.
This was a pretty straight forward project. To create and redesign the current app for users to only download one app to access local news to whatever location they want, while cleaning up the design and making it more efficient for users.
As this app progresses we are still adding a few pieces of functionality to make it unique so that people can view live or past news with ease.
