Overview

This motion piece is taking inspiration from the first piece and to make it as the beginning journey of ascension. I want this animation to have the emotion of chasing and running. I think this sums it up best “Exactly what you run from, you end up chasing.” With this, I want the object to be ominous and just following the protagonist in this void. I think having that looming feeling will make the film more interesting. Going through I want the ship to be chasing this white object while being followed by a black object. When it gets to the end it’ll show that they were one in the same. Along with that the ship is almost the mental space of a person, how they go through their day, how they can get obsessed over something or someone and that when they’re chasing they are running. Most of this will probably be in Cinema 4D there will probably be parts that are put into after effects like solid shapes or words. I’m also curious if I can make people afraid of a shape.

Background

Create a reboot of a title sequence from an old movie, TV show, or video game, and to blend After Effects and Cinema 4D into a cohesive piece that creates a new polished title sequence. This helps me better understand the workflow of Cinema 4D and the time it takes to complete the project. The title sequence will last from 30-45 seconds.

Treatment

I will be referencing my old project to make this new one I will keep the basic color scheme I did from the first project which was mostly greys, blacks, and whites. This will keep the aesthetic and help lead this project into the first project with a bit of a different narrative. As well I will be focusing on low poly design to make the piece seem a bit different. Along with this, the spooky season is fast approaching and want something that can be a bit spooky with a mystery object chasing the ship. Pieces will be shown in 2d like face on of the shapes and other pieces will be shot in 3d when the spaceship is moving and running. This will help incorporate 3d and 2d objects. The low poly style will help keep it more playful, but also work with my ability in Cinema 4d.
