Overview

This motion piece will be focusing on Chrono Trigger I will be updating and innovating the title sequence. This will add to a bit of a style change and will play with more colors and also make the title sequence a lot longer than the original. As well this will show and give a preview of the game as well getting people excited about seeing it. It will showcase the major directors and art designers of the game. This is to bring something from the past up to the present. This piece, will show off the characters and be a bit more dramatic/uplifting. As well time is a big theme of the game so incorporating a gear system and clock hands will probably be the main aspect of cinema 4d. All in all, this will create the full effect of a title sequence and showcase all of the people in the game or the main characters and give the overall theme of the game.

Background

Create a reboot of a title sequence from an old movie, TV show, or video game, and to blend After Effects and Cinema 4D into a cohesive piece that creates a new polished title sequence. This helps me better understand the workflow of Cinema 4D and the time it takes to complete the project. The title sequence will last from 30-45 seconds.

Treatment

With this, I will be coming up with something new but referencing the original Title sequence which showed the darker part and the lighter themes of the game. The title sequence will focus more on the darker aspects of the game with a more serious tone. This will help update the game and help show the game in a different aspect. I will be using similar music to that in the game. The intro song for the game is 34 seconds so I will look into using this or an updated version so it doesn’t sound so grainy. Otherwise, I will mimic it with a start-up of a ticking clocking showing faces that pop in and fade then go to a clock winding and hands moving around. The piece will look more cartoon-esque in style. It will also show vibrant colors and will help diversify my style and ability to make something a bit softer. This motion piece will blend both aspects of cel-shading and 2d art to create a cohesive piece. The cel-shading aspect will help blend the 2D aspects without making it super obvious. One style that has inspired me is Windwaker so following aspects of that will develop the title sequence
